Our Little Karli's Growing Up!

Today Karli started started Pre-K! Normally, we are a homeschool family but we enrolled Karli in Pre-K at our neighborhood school this year so she can be around other children, get away from home for a little while, and be able to get the speech classes that the elementary school provides. She was incredibly happy to go to school this morning (I'm wondering how long that will last...? Lol.) and she can't wait to go again tomorrow. A few weeks ago we went shopping for school supplies, and she loved to pick out everything; it's all Disney Princess stuff. She especially loves her backpack which she would carry around everywhere, 24/7, if my mom allowed her to. Last Friday afternoon she got to meet her teacher. Her name is Mrs. Shaw (her name is Carly too, hee*hee), and she's a very nice lady. Karli also got to see her class room, which she was upset to leave. When my mom dropped her off today, she didn't cry at all about mom leaving (good sign), except she did get upset and cried a little because Mrs. Shaw took her backpack and hung it up on the wall with all of the other childrens'. My mom said when she picked her up this morning (she has morning pre-K; 8 a.m.-11a.m.), she said she was laughing and couldn't stop telling her about her day. Her favorite part was the slide (the playground at recess time) and she liked the snack (cookies?) and she said they got to color and sing (the ABCs). Mom said in a few days she'll talk to her teacher and see how she's doing, and how she acts around the atmosphere there. I think this is going to work out really well...I'll keep everyone up-to-date on how the year goes :) ttyl.

I'm so glad to hear Karli had a great first day at preschool!

The real question is....how did Kenzie do without her sister for a couple hours?! Those two are TOO cute together!

Kenzie did great. We bought her a little desk and she did school too. She is much more advanced than Karli at this point in time, so it worked out well.
